CHANGES:

Preparing for Childbirth: We now will offer a 4 week class and one weekend class per month.  All of the classes will be listed together to make it easier for you to select which fits your schedule best!

In addition to combining all of our Preparing for Childbirth classes, we have altered the times for each of our classes.  They will now all consistantly begin at 6:30pm.

We have also redesigned our incentives:

Childbirth and Family Education offers a variety of family-focused classes to meet your needs.   On-line registration and secure credit card payments accepted! 

• Register early as class size is limited.
• Registration is not confirmed until payment is received.
• If you are unable to make a payment prior to a class date or need financial assistance, please call 434.200.4537.
• VA PREMIER MEDICAID participants - - please call the office to register!  You will need to call VA Premier for a referral.
• CENTRA HEALTH EMPLOYEES: Please call the office prior to registration to get your employee discount code.
• Instructions for class registration are included on each class page.
• Please include your email address so that you receive an automated class confirmation. 
• A class information letter and map will be emailed to you a week prior to class.  There is also a link to our hopsital campus map at the top of our website.

To register for Family Emergency Care (family first aid and infant, child and adult CPR) or Safe Sitter, go to "classes" catalog, proceed down to Family Education, "family classes",and click on the class you are looking for for available dates.

CHILDBIRTH AND FAMILY EDUCATION REFUND POLICY

• If you are unable to attend a class you have registered for, please call our office.
• We will be happy to assist you in registering for an alternative class date or send you a letter of credit to be used on a future class offering. 
• Refunds for Prepared Childbirth and Breast Feeding classes are offered in the event of premature delivery only. 
• Our  computer program does not allow credit card refunds; a check will be mailed to you if a refund is applicable.

IN CASE OF INSUFFICIENT ENROLLMENT, CLASSES ARE SUBJECT TO CANCELLATION.  Participants will be contacted and alternative dates offered when possible.  Refunds will be offered upon request in the event of class cancellation.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:  In the event of inclement weather, your class may be canceled IF LYNCHBURG CITY SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED.  Childbirth and Family Education instructors have the option to hold their class based on timely weather conditions.  (Ex: an early morning snow that has melted by the afternoon even though school was out for the day)   PLEASE CHECK THE VOICE MAIL MESSAGE AT 434.200.4537 AFTER 2 PM ON THE DAY OF CLASS FOR THE MOST UP-TO-DATE CANCELLATION INFORMATION.

If a change should occur later in the afternoon (late afternoon snow or HIGH certainty of ice or heavy snow beginning during class hours), we will attempt to notify you by phone. Your safety is our concern. Make-up class dates will be set by your instructor.
